There are really two main reasons why I choose City University of Seattle. First and foremost, I needed an accredited University which offered all online degree programs and second, I am a non-traditional student (I am 58 years old) and City University's online and distance learning programs seemed ideal for my situation. I am an Applied Psychology major and City U has a great selection of Psychology classes to choose from which fit in with my future plans. In order to follow through and become a certified Holistic Counselor, the classes which are offered at City U fit in with my needed program very well.
The main thing I would recommend a new student do to get a good head start with the online program is become well acquainted with the Blackboard program used to submit and receive instructions. I also would encourage a student to become familiar right away with the syllabus for the class they are taking, make a copy and keep it close by since the instructors are generally very specific about what they expect out of the student and what the student can expect out of the class. I have actually recommended City U to my sister and would definitely encourage others who have nontraditional education needs to check out City U, you won't be sorry."

I chose City University due to the
flexible schedule that it provided me while I remained working in
a full-time capacity. City University has created an effective learning
environment using the concepts that were taught. I am amazed and gratified
by my level of engagement during the course, and the commitment to
continue practicing what I have learned afterwards, both at work and
in my private life."
